Do I need to acclimate the timber flooring before installation?
Yes, acclimating timber flooring is crucial. We recommend storing the timber in the room where it will be installed for 48–72 hours prior to installation. This helps the wood adjust to the room's temperature and humidity, minimising potential expansion or contraction post-installation.
What preparation is required before installation?
Ensure the subfloor is clean, dry, level, and free from any debris or contaminants. Any unevenness should be corrected before installation. Additionally, remove any existing floor coverings like carpet or tiles, and ensure the area is free from moisture issues.
Can timber flooring be installed over existing floors?
Timber flooring can be installed over certain existing floors, such as concrete or plywood, provided they are level and in good condition. However, it's not recommended to install over soft coverings like carpet. Each situation is unique, so a site assessment is essential.
How do I maintain my timber floors post-installation?

While we strive to minimise disruption, some noise and dust are inevitable. We recommend removing furniture and valuables from the installation area. Our team uses dust-minimising equipment and ensures the workspace is cleaned daily.

Underlay is essential, especially for floating floor installations. It provides sound insulation, moisture protection, and helps smooth out minor subfloor imperfections, ensuring a better finish and prolonging the floor's lifespan.
How long does flooring installation take?
We work as efficiently as possible to minimise disruption and deliver high-quality results. The exact timeline depends on the size of your space, the level of floor preparation needed, and the type of flooring selected.
Can you remove existing floor?
Yes. We offer floor removal and preparation services, including subfloor levelling if required. Speak to our team for a tailored assessment. Parquetry and solid timber installations may take longer due to their custom layouts and finishing requirements. Can I take samples home?
If you're not sure which flooring is the perfect fit for you? Choose from our different samples, take them home and test out the textures and colours in your own place before buying!
